1. What is the idea?
The idea is simple: to make money by bringing advertisers and people together. In order to bring people I need a unique, original ideea, something that have not been made before, and something that will get media attention and make people talk about this.
So, I need a decent and inovative idea, something that is new and interesting enough to catch the attention of the media and public. And then I need to monetize this traffic, but not by the old banal methods of Adwords or by displaying boring advertising banners, instead I needed to find a better way, something that would make people actualy read the ads, and click if interested.
I want both the visitors and the advertisers to benefit. Unfortunately, in our days, people do not like advertising. Their eyes have learned to avoid banners and ads, developing what some call 'Adversiting Blindness'; basically while one visit web pages he will automatic detect and avoid banners while trying to locate and read the content that he is searching for.
But at the same time people love discounts, free offers of valuable products and services, as well as pleasant surprises. So why not making a collection of good, pleasant discounts ( which, basically is still advertsing ) and present it in a form that will compel visitors not only to take a general look but instead to open and look inside each advertising box for its content!
This is PaidCuriosity: a large collection of pleasant surprises hidden in boxes that repays people curiosity!
So, everyone is welcome to buy my boxes. Each box contain a Text, an Image and it points to an website. When the visitors moves his mouse over each box, the box will open and a window with its content will appear. If he likes what he seeys, he will click on it and visit the website that makes the offer.
You can buy as many boxes as you like, as long as there are some available.
The boxes you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently. I guarantee to keep it online for at least 5 years, but hopefully much longer. So, in the long run, I believe the boxes will offer good value.
2. Who are you?
My name is Alex Marias, I'm 27 years old guy and I live in a city in Hunedoara, Romania. This is very near the Dracula Castle ( Transilvania ).
3. Why is the price for a box so high?
US $200 is not a high price per box considering that the advertising will be displayed for at least the next 5 years ( making it about $3 per month ) and that a lot of visitors ( potentially millions ) will search around through boxes to see their content!
4. How/why is this site unique?
While there are other discounts websites on the Internet, PaidCuriosity is not just an discount collection but instead is a surprises collection. Not all boxes contain discounts or offers, some contain very nice surprises!
Basically www.PaidCuriosity.com is the first Surprise Site ever! A large collection of surprises, hidden in boxes, awayting for visitors to discover them!
We all know that in order to draw the attention of the media, and the public, one needs either to have an unique, innovative product/ideea/site or to invest A LOT of money in promoting and advertising.
I would go for the first way, by having an new, unique site, the first of its kind. This is what I am tring to achive with PaidCuriosity, the first Surprise Site ever.
5. What is the benefit for advertisers?
On many websites with millions of visitors, the people do not look or click on ads, they either read the content or get an general overview of the site.
On PaidCuriosity, the visitors come to discover the great surprises inside the boxes, so most of the visitors will basically look in amost every box, too se what is inside. Curiosity drives them!
Our only job ( me and the advertisers ) is to put great offers and surprises inside the boxes, something with good value that will make visitors want to check inside more and more boxes!
If the site gets the attention of a large public ( media, word of mouth, etc ) each advertiser have a large change that most of the visitors will look at his offer, this giving a big return on the investment. We have:
- A new, innovative ideea that will hopefully be driving lots of visitors
- A concept ment to have visitors look at each ( or most ) offers ( ads )
- A one-time low cost price for each ad ( about $3 per month, $200 for 5 years )
- A concept ment to keep visitors happy, with pleasant surprises
6. Why should I buy your boxes?
Because you will have a text, an image and a link to your site on the homepage of a site that could potentially be seen by millions of people over the coming years. And these milions of people will not just take a general look at the homepage and leave, instead they will probably look in every box to see what it contains! This means that millions of people will look right there your add, reading the text and the image! But you also need to offer something of good value, to make a pleasant surprise!
The site will be online for at least 5 years, that's guaranteed, but the idea is to keep it online for as much as possible. So you really can get a lot of visitors!
7. Can I buy more than one box?
Yes, you can buy as many boxes as you want, from the remaining number of empty boxes left.
8. Are you worried about copy-cats/rip-offs?
No, it is bound to happen (this is the internet afterall), and infact, I think it will work in my favour. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So I think any copy-cat sites will only have pure comedy value, whereas mine possibly has a bit of comedy PLUS some actual pull in terms of advertising dollars.
